Christmas is my second favourite holiday of the year, my number one favourite holiday is Easter.
I love Christmas that Christmas is about spending time with family and friends, but that’s not why it’s my second favorite holiday. I love it because it’s about the celebration of Jesus’ birth. If he wasn’t born we wouldn’t have Easter – the whole reason he was born, so save us and so we could have a relationship with God. When it comes to celebrating Christmas I think that it’s important to focus on the real reason behind it and not get suctioned into the consumer side of it. One of the ways David and I do this is by doing a Jesse tree – here’s a previous post I did explaining what this is.
This year I wanted to do something different so I headed to Pinterest and found the idea of going through 25 different names of Jesus. There were quite a few different links to go to where people had posted their names of Jesus tutorials. After a good look around I finally found the ones I wanted to use. They also had a great printable I could download and use. I headed off to the print shop and had the cards printed so that we could use the.
I can’t remember which website I used so I can’t post a link to it, but to download the printable click here.
Instead of putting them on our Christmas tree we decided to hang it across a section of our lounge. I miss not doing the Jesse tree, but I am really enjoying doing this, this year. I saw that someone has combined the names of Jesus with the Jesse tree… maybe I’ll do that next year.
